An End Brings About A New Beginning!!
After a tremendous three month run at the New York Comedy Club, LTG finally closed the curtain on the extremely courageous and hilarious hit, "Haters."  But, it will definitely not be the last we see of the groundbreaking show.  As we've noted in previous articles, the cast of "Haters" were all together extraordinary in their heart, talent and commitment to the piece putting forth new and fresh performances every week.  We've had the pleasure of welcoming new writers and directors to the Gang in the span of the run; Lazaro Viciedo with "Who Hated It, A Hate Mystery", Jomo Kellman with, "Battle of Da Slam", Dustin Quick with "The Hoe Down, Player Haters", Tawfiq with "Straight Up Gossip", Sam Aoyama with "Haters?" and most recently, debuting this Sunday, Tanya Cameron with "Charlie Angel Haters".  They all not only met the challenge but succeeded in creating original and fun pieces that epitomized the spirit and the importance of the show.  From the poignancy of the original segment, "Could You Please Be Quiet, Haters" directed by Ah-Keisha McCants to the wackiness of "Hoe Down", "Haters" has crossed cultures and lifestyles pulling at the heartstrings of all who attended, leaving them with not only with a laughing fit but food for thought.

LTG sends out a very gracious thank you and congratulations to them in completing what was only the first phase of future successes.  To the well over 30 actors who participated in this show, new and old, who came in and gave a hundred percent to the audiences, we say good job and stay in character!

The Rise Of America's Fastest Growing Past Time, Hating!
When Artistic Director Reed R. McCants first approached me about doing a show called
"Haters", I couldn't quit figure how it could be done.  A show about hating, uhm, interesting, but what could we really do with it?  We all know the term hating and we've all hated and/or been hated on, but how could we translate it into a show that not only was entertaining but prolific?  Well all those questions and more came to mind and when the challenge was presented in getting something up in 3 weeks of Saturdays, the answer came.  With a quick concept and the help of the ensemble actors and Jomo Kellman supplying quick witted one liners, the comical satire "Haters" was born and closed out our "Live Spot Presents" show with a bang.

But now the overnight hit is back, bigger and better.  This time around LTG has thus far enlisted over 30 new actors and performers for this open end run starting at the New York Comedy Club in March.  From there the show will be moving to a new location on 53rd and 8th Avenue, what will be the Home Of The Live Theatre Gang.  This is such and exciting time for LTG.  All the hard work has paid off and there couldn't be a better show to welcome us to our new location.

Furthermore "Haters" will feature over seven parts depicting racism, sexism, class-ism, age discrimination, family drama, etc.  Starting the run are, "Straight Up Gossip" directed by Tawfiq, "Who Hated It, A Hate Mystery" directed by Lazaro Viciedo, "Night Of The Living Hate", "Would You Please Be Quiet", "Family Re-Haters", "Battle Of The Slam," and much more.  Watch history in the making, you will not want to miss this Hating extravaganza!  Featuring extraordinary talent and poignant messages, "Haters" is a show you'll love to hate!
