A Holiday Classic Is Born!
For those fortunate people who had a chance to witness any of the eight performances of “Sista Scrooge”, you’ll pretty much know what I’m about to say.  But, for those who have not caught this fantastic show, read on.  This will be a unique holiday season for most New Yorkers, especially after the tragedies of September 11th, but as I sat at the rear of the Producer’s Club’s “Grand Theatre”, this past Sunday, a joyous warmth swept over me because of the magnificent and colorful performances I had just witnessed.  I could only wish that every one of our New Yorkers could have been there with me at that time!  With “Sista Scrooge”, I feel the true spirit of New York and the spirit of this holiday season.  This is a time when we all should give thanks for the simple gift of life.  No other theatrical story displays this concept greater than Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”.  But, with this version (I might add I stayed away from the rehearsals purposely to get a fresh view), never has it been displayed with such hilarity and rip-roaring fun.

A great big holiday shout-out goes to both casts who were flawless (after the first show’s shaky start) and for writer/director, Ah-Keisha McCants with her creative imagination, beautiful songs and seamless choreography.  In closing, all I want to say is if you’re breathing and have a pulse, get down to the Producer’s Club and catch this show!!  New Yorkers and anyone who is visiting our great city, you'll have the time of your life.  This will make a great holiday gift to anybody who wishes to spread love, joy and season’s greetings to one another!  Happy Holidays!
