A Revolution in Comedy and Entertainment
Who could’ve guessed the dynamic hosting of Eric Thomas and Lazaro Viciedo would spark a revolution in comedy and entertainment!  The Live Spot Presents, a vehicle for underground poets, comics and one-acts to show their skills, was exactly that and more.  After a slow start in turn-out, the night quickly became live with laughter and clapping hands, as people of all backgrounds and ethnicities piled in to see Azrael and The Mizfits hit us off with hip hop cuts from their upcoming album and Tanya Cameron, Peter Brena, Chaunta Macklin and Alexandra Guiterrez rocked excerpts from the hit satire, “Haters”.  The New York Comedy Club became poetic when Kenneth, an old time follower of the Gang blessed the mic, but that was only the beginning because soon to follow was Black Pearl with a love poem displaying her need and emotions for her black man!  Lady Adeana also hit us off with her own rendition of a poem written by Jomo Kellman from the forthcoming, Printz of Poets 2, she was also feeling kinda romantic, as she dropped jaws when she told us of her need for some sexual healing!  David Waugh and Great Comedians of Color, Bill Cosby, Moms Mabley and Freddie Prinze (Eric Thomas, Black Pearl and Laz), had the party going with comedy, while stand-out performances from host Lazaro Viciedo and Josh of the Peanut Gallery kept us guessing with original comedic songs accompanied by acoustic guitar.  Not to mention the beautiful handcrafted designs of LTG Alum, Nacinimod Deodee.  Once again, he brought poetry and fashion to another level with his magnificent and brilliant tailoring – the gorgeous male and female models, didn’t hurt one bit!  All in all, we had a great time celebrating LTG’s new beginning for 2004.  Just keep tuning in because the revolution is right around the corner!  Until next time.
