A Word From LTG's Artistic Director Hey
Gang!
As
you
know,
this
has
been
a
remarkable
summer
for
LTG.
Since
the
beginning
of
June,
we’ve
been
blessed
with
four
productions,
twenty
appearances,
initiated
fifteen
new
LTG
actors
and
signed
up
ten
new
Angel
Members.
Of
course
all
of
this
would
not
have
gone
on
without
a
hitch.
Our
September
2nd
performance
of
“Great
Women
/
Men
of
Color”
was
cancelled
due
to
scheduling
conflicts
on
behalf
of
Lady
Luci’s
Lounge.
However,
we
are
a
determined
bunch
and
any
obstacles
just
gives
us
more
fuel
to
succeed
at
becoming
the
first
National
Theatre
of
Color
in
the
world!
(Smile)
Nevertheless, we have one more treat in store for you before the official end of summer. We are currently in rehearsal with a spanking new version of the poetic comedy, “The Printz of Poets”. This hilarious show premiered in February to rave reviews. David Mills of The Village Voice says, “Director Reed McCants (that’s me), transforms this raps to riches narrative into an eye-opening experience”. Back
by

at
Jimmy’s

in
conjunction
with
the
Hottest
Poets,
this
poetic
play
explores
the
four
opposing
personalities
in
rapper

Lamar’s
head.
Their
continuous

The

are
brilliantly
portrayed
by
poets,
Jahsun
as
the
abstract
Unsanity,
Jomo
Kellman
as
the
chaotic
Skitz,
Nacinimod
Deodee
as
the
irreverent
Reason
and
Brother
Natural
as
the
boisterous
Blunt.

Lemar
the
Loose-Lipped

Newcomers
to

Gysi
and
Staxx
Cordello
also
make
appearances
as
Samson
and
Jaila
that
further
heighten
the
impact
of
this
delightful
play. This
is
a
show
you
won’t
want
to
miss,
Gang!
Lastly, we’d like to give a special shout-out to all the O.G gang members who’s continuous participation is immeasurable. Kudos to our Producer Ah-Keisha McCants, Executive Director Neema Barnette, Directors Cantrese Alloway and Bernard Shropshire for their dedication. Plus, Berta Indeed, Eric Thomas, Cheniel Reed, Michael Reed, Jody McCants, Voza Rivers and The Harlem Chamber of Congress, Bob Slade and Madeline Reed for their behind the scenes contributions. Of course we’d also like to thank, You, our audience for supporting the shows and adding to the growth of our website, which has received over 50,000 hits in the past month. But, if you think you love what you’ve seen so far, wait till the Fall, Baby! Thanks
To
You
All
And
May
God
Bless! Reed
