Back to Back and In Living Color!
It’s been a
long process with two shows being cast and mounted simultaneously. But LTG is
committed to bringing you the best in entertainment. After all the hard work
that was put in the scripts, the scheduling, the faxing, the auditioning and the
casting, we at LTG couldn’t be more pleased. On Monday night we held the
first
reading of “Great Comedians
of Color” and judging by the actors, who could barely get through the script
from their laughter; this show will be another LTG hit. Thanks greatly to
Eric Thomas the writer, who spent hours and hours
of tireless research on the subject of comedians and comedy.
This is not your mother’s typical historical retrospective. Not only will you enjoy impersonations of some of the greatest comedians in history, but it will be treated in a fresh and exciting way. I don’t want to give away the plot, so let’s just say that the show explores where comedy was and where it is today. Can you imagine spending an evening with Richard Pryor, Freddie Prinze, Redd Foxx, Moms Mabley, Bert Williams and more? You won't want to miss this hysterically historical play as these "Great Comedians" teach a new generation of comics how it’s really supposed to be done. Featuring different impersonations every week, you’ll want to keep coming back for more. I must mention that this show contains explicit language and is meant for mature audiences. It will be like going to your typical comedy showcase but this time it’s a play as well. Great Comedians premieres Sunday, April 7, 2002 and runs for the entire months of April and May, Sundays at 5:00 PM. Well, that’s all there is for now but we’ll keep you posted on both “Great Women of Color” and “Great Comedians of Color” right on up to Showtime.
Speaking of Showtime, there couldn't be a better time to become an “Angel Member”, especially with these back to back shows. Did you know that as a member you can come back and see these shows as often as you like and if you bring a friend as a guest they get in for half price. All for only $50. There is no Theatre membership program like this so, what are you waiting for? Join today.
