Bernard Shropshire
First and foremost an actor, Bernard is pleased to be making his directorial debut with The Live Theater Gang. He humbly welcomes this generous opportunity and gives special thanks to Reed McCants and Ah-Keisha McCants for teaching him and believing in him.
He is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, where he attended high school at the Baltimore School for the Arts. He received his bachelor's degree in drama from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Since moving to New York, he's been involved with several theatrical companies and has performed in various productions. While a member of The African American Showcase Company, he appeared in Grease, Fried, and Laid to the Side and The Mighty Gents. While a member of The Sable Collective, he appeared in Love Bites and Member Support. Recently, and for the past two years, he toured with the company known as Theater Garden, in their educational musical, The Lady of Copper. And as a current member of the ever-present Live Theater Gang, he was in the company's holiday production of Sista Scrooge and the never-ending production (smile), Café Millennium.
