Carin Yvette Brown
Carin is a native Philadelphian and has been studying the Art of acting for many years. She majored in theatre and dance at the Meredith School of Performing Arts. From there, she moved on to study acting at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, and she now holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Marymount Manhattan College.
She has toured extensively and has gone as far as Haiti, where she performed with the A.S.A.P program; a New York based group which teaches the risks of premarital sex, by writing and performing plays geared toward young people. She also portrayed Mrs. Smith in Imperceptible Mutabilities..., Lady in Purple in For Colored Girls..., Earl of Salisbury in Henry V, a Chorus Member in Once On This Island and in the musical adaptation of Antigone. She also be seen in such movies as Hype William's BELLY and in an upcoming movie entitled Shelter Island. In her spare time, she performs for the Philadelphia Phillies as a Phanstormer. She is also a lyrcist and trained dancer, and is skilled in various sports, particularly basketball.
Carin feels extremely honored to be working with The Live Theatre Gang. LTG has afforded her the exciting opportunity of expanding her skills by portraying Zora Neale Hurston in Great Women of Color.
Her ultimate goal in life is to produce, direct and star in her own sitcom. Carin would like to thank GOD first for His many blessings, and her mother and sister who always supported her, "no matter what", in this crazy business called acting.
