Who could describe the
Live Spot Comedy's opening show
at the New York Boston Comedy Club this past Friday as anything other than
fabulous! The show, which began at Midnight was on fire with performances
from comics both new and known; and packed to the brim with
laughing and thoroughly satisfied customers! You couldn't beat that action
with a brick because it was just that thick in the Spot! Hosted by
Victor Cruz (Left), his
poise, hilarity and quick wit, kept the audience enthralled and wanting more
from the start! On the line-up were Laz,
who opened the blaze with his fiery and impulsive comedy followed by
Gina Briche, who reminded us that Whoopi
Goldberg wasn't the last funny women to hit the NY circuit! It was like a
song and dance as over 2 hours of comedy felt like 15 minutes because the
jokes just kept coming funnier and better with every comic! As advertised
the Live Spot also premiered its Laugh Off segment where new talent perform
for a spot as a part of the regular Line-Up the following week! With great
performances from comics Mic Diflo,
Garry, Ishmael
and Cynthia, it all came down to the
performance and the audience's response moved
Harvard Feller and Kelis out
the LO and in the Spot! But that was only the beginning of a night that
would prove unstoppable, when Saturday Night Live star,
Dean Edwards (pictured below)
blessed the audience with jokes so funny you'd wanna slap yourself! His
impersonation of Denzel Washington was off the chain funny! Next up was
Mark Theobald
who we all knew from the Dave Chappelle Show, Comic View and Showtime at the
Apollo. He ripped it up and the show still kept going as hilarious comic
Romey Rome shined and our very own
Eric Thomas, who gave us food for thought
with his poignant and sidesplitting take on the world, achieved star
status. And of course
closing
the show was Gil T., who as usual was
outstanding. When the show finally wrapped with funny special goodbye note
from our Executive Director Reed R. McCants,
all the performers were proud to call it a night well performed! It was
truly a wonderful night! At 2 am, not one person left (and people were
still coming) until the entire show was complete and made fan fare around
the comics who'd performed and given them more than their money's worth of
entertainment! The Live Spot indeed, will go down in history as the
funniest comedy show in the City! Every Friday night at Midnight, the
laughter begins and keeps your head spinning with enjoyment! Special shout
outs to Lady Adeena and
Vanessa who were not only in the house,
but helped in making the Live Spot a success! Everyone is talking about
Live Spot Comedy at the Boston Comedy Club so make your reservations today
because this show is a must see!
Soon to come, the Live Spot Variety Show at the New York Improv beginning
Tuesday, August 3rd, 2004! You wanted entertainment, well LTG's got it!
