In LTG’s ongoing attempt to reach
out to younger audiences and inspire them with our “Great Men & Women Of
Color Series”, the Live Theatre Gang is proud to have performed a special performance
for St. Charles
Borromeo School’s 8th
grade class on Thursday, May 2, 2002 at the Producer’s Club. The show
featured impersonations of blues singer Bessie Smith (Black Pearl), Poet
Phyllis
Wheatley (Michelle Seabreeze), Latin Singer Selena (Charlene
Gonzalez), Jazz Vocalist Sarah Vaughan (Cantrese Alloway),
Vaudevillian Comedian Bert Williams
(Tawfiq), Blues guitarist
Robert Johnson
(Eric Thomas),
Entrepreneur Madame C.J Walker (Tanya Cameron) and the show caps off with Reed McCants’
captivating impersonation of Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. The
students enjoyed Adam’s memorable “What’s In Your Hand Speech” bringing the
show to a rousing conclusion. LTG would like to send a special thanks to
Dorry McCants, who coordinated this event and all the wonderful Teachers of St.
Charles Borromeo" for giving us the opportunity to perform for the kids.

The “Great Men & Women Color Series” is available for benefits, fundraisers and touring engagements. There are very few shows that can bring about the excitement and inspirations as LTG’s “Great Women & Men Color” tributes. For more information contact booker@livetheatregang.com.
