Qurell-Amani Wright
A native New Yorker, Qurell-Amani graduated from the Florida State University School of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts in 1995. After graduation she relocated to Beaufort, South Carolina where she was employed as an on-air personality and commercial voice-over artist at WVGB radio. Upon returning to New York in 1996, Qurell has performed in several commercials, play readings, and independent films, including “Skirty Winner” with Austin Pendleton, and Julian Williams’ “Waiting for my Bronco” in which she not only played Azteca but she also assistant-directed the project which wrapped production in October 1999. She has been seen at the Producer’s Club in Florence Mills’ Soul Love and the March. Recently, she performed on the Ananda Lewis Show as part of a Black History Celebration. In addition to acting, Qurell also has a love of poetry that she may one day explore on a more frequent basis. Behind the scenes, Qurell is currently a sound technician for an Elmwood Playhouse production of August Wilsons’ Fences in Nyack, NY.
