ROSILYN HELLER began her motion picture career as a Creative Affairs Executive for Palomar/ABC Pictures in New York before moving to Los Angeles to work as a production executive at Columbia Pictures. There she became the first woman Vice— President of a Hollywood studio. She remained at Columbia Pictures for eight years (under various regimes, including Peter Guber, Stanley Jaffe, David Begelman, and Danny Melnick), where she was able to develop and supervise many award winning films such as TAXI DRIVER, JULIA, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, THE EYES OF LAURA MARS, and THE CHINA SYNDROME.

Ms. Heller then became an independent producer with Columbia, where she executive produced ICE CASTLES. She then went on to produce the comedy feature WHO’S THAT GIRL, starring Madonna for Guber-Peters at WB, AMERICAN HEART, starring Jeff Bridges for Avenue/World Pictures, and THE BEANS OF EGYPT, MAINE, starring Martha Plimpton, Kelly Lynch and Rutger Hauer.  As well as the features she has made, Ms. Heller produced the 6 1/2 hour NBC miniseries CELEBRITY by the late Tommy Thompson, and several television movies, including CALLIE & SON, starring Lindsay Wagner and Michelle Pfeiffer, THE KILLING OF RANDY WEBSTER, starring Hal Holbrook and Dixie Carter, and most recently, with her partner Gloria Steinem, the highly-acclaimed Lifetime movie BETTER OFF DEAD. In addition to her years as V.P. of Production at Columbia Ms. Heller also served as Executive V.P. for Guber—Peters Entertainment.

Ms. Heller has numerous features in various stages of development and is currently preparing, along with her partner, Ms. Steinem, a CBS miniseries called THE FAMILY TREE, and an HBO Showcase film called THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY. With her unique ability to scout new talent Ms. Heller has given wonderful opportunity to many young directors, writers and actors, who are among the most important in Hollywood today. She has helped to develop, produce and distribute their work to an ever—widening audience. Before her career in the motion picture industry, Ms. Heller held various positions in New York publishing, including Senior Editor for New America Library. Her ongoing relationship with many people in publishing, including writers, agents and editors, has continued to serve her well in her film career. Ms. Heller holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an M.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
